When author Rosalind Leigh is assigned to write a book about the life of Olive Martin, a woman sentenced to life in prison for killing her mother and sister, she develops a relationship with Olive and is soon convinced of her innocence. With the help of restaurant owner and former policeman Hal Hawksley, she sets out to prove it and undo what she sees as a miscarriage of justice.
Olive Martin is sentenced to life after confessing to the murder of her mother and sister. No one doubts her guilt - except author Rosalind Leigh.
Rosalind starts digging into Olive's personal life, her work, boyfriend and former neighbours.
Rosalind investigates Olive's former neighbours. Meanwhile, Olive suffers the ultimate betrayal in the prison.
Rosalind is convinced that Olive is innocent, she pushes for her release, in doing so she has a dangerous encounter with businessman Stewart Hayes.
