Following the nurses of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. In each episode, viewers will see the heart-warming highs and lows of the ever-demanding role. The nurses work across multiple areas of the hospital where they treat both male and female patients from a range of age groups and their day-to-day involves dressing major surgical wounds, family liaison, urgently moving patients to theatre, blood transfusions, chest drains and much more.
In Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra Hospital, newly-minted Matron Steph helps her team care for patients, including 79-year-old Gordon who suffered a sudden loss of consciousness at home.
Matron Hazera responds to an emergency and battles to find enough staff, while Renee treats a patient with a flare-up of ulcerative colitis and Sarah cares for a terminally ill patient.
Matron Steph trials a system to see patients quicker in ED, Renee supports a young woman with anorexia, and Rhona cares for Raymond, a patient with suspected sepsis.
